There is still time to apply for the US$2 million Food System Vision Prize!
If your goal for the new year is to make a difference in your community, country, or beyond, the Food System Vision Prize could be the chance to make your dream a reality. The US$2 million prize, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, is accepting applications until the end of January.
The prize intends to award 10 participants from around the globe who have compelling visions of what regenerative and nourishing food environments will look like in 2050. Individuals, organizations, institutions, companies, and other entities across the globe are encouraged to participate.
If you’re passionate about food and are concerned about long-term sustainability, I encourage you to apply for the Food Systems Vision Prize. The prize will allow you to describe your vision and pilot it in your region.

Through mid-January, prize organizers had received 650 applications. Applicants so far have included arcenciel Lebanon, the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs, the Narragansett Indian Tribe, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
How can you participate?
Visions can be submitted until 5 pm EST on January 31, 2020. Grand prizes of US$200,000 each will be awarded to the top 10 visionaries. Finalists will also gain access to advisors and resources from the Rockefeller Foundation.
As a Food System Vision Prize participant (a.k.a. Visionary) you will be tasked with developing a concrete and actionable vision for your chosen place – town, state/province, region, bioregion, watershed, or country – through a systems approach.
