Marina Mastrorillo

Marina is Senior Economist at the Alliance, where she leads econometric research in the Climate Security Team mainly on migration and climate security issues in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.

Before joining the Alliance, Marina has worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on issues concerning self-reliance, climate security and environmental sustainability. Marina’s research experience includes assessing the effectiveness of climate smart agricultural practices; exploring the interrelationships between commercial agriculture, human migration and deforestation; evaluating social assistance programs in emergency contexts.

Marina has also worked as researcher at Princeton University, where she explored the relationships between climate change, agricultural land use and migration patterns. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and an M.Sc. in Development Economics.
