Robert Fungo
Dr. Robert Fungo has a PhD in Applied Human Nutrition from Makerere University, Uganda. He is a Researcher and an Academician in the field of nutrition, food science and technology.
He supports the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, where he takes lead to demonstrate how common beans contribute to individual and household food diversity, nutrition and health outcomes and food security. He is also a Lecturer at Makerere University, mentoring students on Nutritional Biochemistry and Community Nutrition and Public Health.
His professional interest includes understanding the influence of local foods such as beans and food systems on the nutrition and food security of women and children in low and middle-income African countries (LMIACs). He has published about 30 peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals.
