Wuletawu Abera

I am interested in understanding biophysical processes such as hydrology, ecology, agronomy and climate change to optimize ecosystem services such as agricultural productivity, water resource availability, and soil organic carbon sequestration, etc. I achieve this through input optimization (irrigation and fertilizer), land management (land restoration, climate-smart practices), and tool development using process-based models and Machine learning analytics. I’m involved in multiple CGIAR initiative such as Excellence in Agronomy (EiA), Sustainable Intensification -Mixed Farming system (SI-MFS), Nexus Gains, and other bilateral Projects across east and west part of Africa.
